Lucy Austin

A South Australian talent and former training partner with the Adelaide Thunderbirds, Austin became a premiership player in her debut SSN season in 2023.

The 190cm GS/GA came through the Netball SA pathway, representing her state and starring in The Hospital Research Foundation Group Premier League for Matrics Netball Club.

Austin made her first SSN appearance in Round 6 of 2022, becoming Thunderbird #105.

At the close of the season, she was offered her first SSN contract in the same month she won a premiership with Matrics Netball Club. 

Officially a Thunderbird, she delivered 133 goals and 11 super shots in 2023.

Austin finished the year on a high, delivering stand-out performances in the final rounds and having a significant impact during her side’s finals campaign.

Post-season, she was honoured with the SSN Rookie of the Year Award.

In November, she represented her country for the second time at the Fast5 Netball World Series.

Off court, she studies a Bachelor of Human Movement/Masters of Teaching.
